Got my taxes done

So I finally got around to doing my taxes, used TaxAct Deluxe. It was pretty chill, not too complicated. I liked that it walked me through everything. Didn't hit any major snags. Just kinda got it done, you know? Felt good to have it off my plate.

Solid experience, minor hiccup

I filed my federal and state taxes using TaxAct Deluxe this season. The ordering process was clear, and I got a confirmation email right away. The software itself was pretty intuitive; it guided me through most sections without much trouble. I did have a question about some investment income, so I used the TaxAct Xpert Assist for the first time. The response took about a day, which was a little longer than I hoped, but the advice was helpful. The final e-file went through without issues. The quality of the overall software is good, just the support response time could be a tad faster.

Easy federal filing

I used TaxAct for my federal return this year. It was straightforward and the process went smoothly. Filed quickly and got confirmation. No issues at all.

Good value for self-employed

This was my first time using TaxAct Self-Employed. I usually use a different service but heard good things about the pricing here. I found a bundle discount that saved me a bit on both federal and state filing. For the features offered, it felt like a solid deal. Definitely worth the purchase compared to what I've paid before.

So easy to file!

Oh my gosh, TaxAct made filing my business returns (S Corporation) a breeze! I was dreading it, but the whole process was so smooth and straightforward. I loved how it organized everything for me. It was so fast, I couldn't believe it. I am absolutely going to use them again next year! Highly recommend!

Reliable as always

I've been using TaxAct for a few years now, mostly for my individual federal and state returns. This year I used TaxAct Premier. The consistency is why I keep coming back. The interface is familiar, and I could easily import my data from last year, which saved a bunch of time. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done right every time.

does anyone know if TaxAct offers those refund advances? trying to get my money quick this year.

D Daniel Nguyen 1 week ago
Yeah, they usually do offer refund advances through a partner bank. It's usually a loan against your refund, so just be aware of the terms.

They have a refund advance option, but it's not for everyone and there are eligibility requirements. Check their site for details.

how do the service codes work? like, where do I even put it in?

M Mark Lopez 1 month ago
You enter it right before you pay, in the checkout section. There's usually a box labeled 'Service Code' or 'Promo Code'.

It's on the payment screen. Just look for a box to type it in before you finalize the filing. Make sure it applies before you click submit!

is the Xpert Assist thing worth paying for? I always have a few weird questions and usually just google them but a real person would be nice.

I Ian Lee 1 week ago
I used it once when I had a really specific question about an inherited IRA. It was helpful to get a direct answer without digging through forums for hours.

Honestly, depends on how complex your questions are. For basic stuff, probably not. But if you're truly stumped and it's something that could cost you money, then yeah, it's worth the peace of mind.

is TaxAct generally considered accurate? i've always heard TurboTax is like, the gold standard, but i'm trying to save some cash.

L Linda Gomez 2 weeks ago
I've used TaxAct for years and never had an issue with accuracy. It's guided and flags things if something looks off. As long as you input correctly, it should be fine.

B Barbara Lopez 2 weeks ago
It's just as accurate as TurboTax if you put the right numbers in. The main difference is usually the user interface or how extensive their help articles are, not the underlying calculations.

thinking of trying TaxAct this year. can I import my tax info from last year if I used H&R Block?

E Elizabeth Anderson 4 weeks ago
I think you can usually import a PDF of your prior year return, but it might not pull everything in perfectly. You'll probably have to double-check line by line.

Yeah, I imported my PDF from FreeTaxUSA last year. It worked for the basic stuff but I still had to manually input some of my investment details. Better than starting from scratch though!
